The Force Behind The Lift - Meet J.D. Field

Let's admit it, not all of us are great with numbers, but today's interviewee specializes in them! We sat down with JD Field, financial systems manager for VSG. You will learn that JD has a background in both the public and private sector of finance, which has served him well in his position here at VSG. JD's experience in the past has proven to be invaluable to his department and the company. It's employees like JD that make Rotary Lift what is is today. Take a few minutes to meet JD, one of Rotary’s Force Behind the Lift.

Q:  How long have you been with Rotary Lift?

JD:  4 Years!

What do you enjoy about your job?

JD:  The people and the opportunity VSG’s leadership extends us, to make decisions that we think are best for the company. They’ve empowered us to make improvements where we see fit, as long as we can support it with data and it makes sense.

Q:  What is your background in finance?

JD:  Over 10 years of experience as either a Financial Analyst or Finance Department Manager in both the public and private sectors.

Masters in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. Go IWU Wildcats!

Undergraduate Degree in Finance from the greatest University in all the land….The University of Kentucky. We are hanging our 9th NCAA Basketball National Championship banner this season, you know?

Q:  What is one thing about finance that people may not know?

JD:  We are fun people! Everyone says the marketing people have all the fun, but we bean counters like to party.

JD__boysQ:  During your work career or personal life what are you most proud of?

JD:  1)    My family. My beautiful wife, Crystal, who was also the 2001 Miss Jefferson County. I definitely “out-kicked the coverage” there and most proud of my two sons, Mason (3) and Myles (2). They are the center of my world and I just have a blast watching them grow up every day.
2)    My two Fantasy Football Championship titles. Just kidding. But seriously.

Team_SunriseQ:  What is one fun fact about you that people may not know?

JD:  Along with a couple of my good buddies, we orchestrate a 20-24 member golf league which has four “Major Championships” and a Ryder Cup event - throughout the year. The winners of one of our Majors win green jackets we bought from Goodwill like 10 years ago. They are awesome.

Q:  What do you enjoy doing in your time away from work?

JD:  Hanging with the fam, playing golf, and watching UK basketball win national championships while Hoosier fans quietly watch in disgust.

Q:  Would you consider yourself more of a music or sports person?

JD:  Sports but pop in some Sir Mixalot and I can flip real fast.

Q:  If you purchased one Rotary Lift product what would it be?  Why?

JD:  Rotary Turf Lift - TL07. I own a Yamaha golf cart and a John Deere riding lawn mower that I could do some serious damage to if I could get those bad boys off the ground!
