A look at the people that make Rotary Lift

We'd like to introduce you to Gary Lamb, shipping supervisor with Rotary Lift.

Gary has played an important part in managing and implementing our vertical storage units for parts. Rotary started with two vertical storage units, and later this year will see that number climb to eight. Gary believes in keeping our customers happy by providing the best possible service we can offer, along with Genuine Rotary parts.

Q:  How long have you been with Rotary Lift? 

Gary:  I have been at Rotary Lift for 26 years. I started as a clerk in parts. I have been involved in parts (service parts) for 23 years. The 3 years out of parts I was the cell coordinator for shipping in our east plant. I have been a supervisor going on 10 years.

Q:  What do you enjoy about your job?

Gary:  I enjoy working with the people I work with. I have good people; they really take pride in what they do. They really understand how important it is to make sure the customer is the number one focus. The company has been a great asset for my family and myself.

Q:  What advantage does our parts department give Rotary Lift and our customers?

Gary:  The advantage we give is that we have customer focus from the top of upper management all the way down. We have a dedicated crew that will go above and beyond to get the customer whatever they need, as quick as we can get it. We have invested in our program as far as service parts. We have our vertical storage units that we use to house our parts. That's helped us tremendously to help speed the process of getting parts to our customers. We have a good inventory control system in place that helps maintain what parts are needed in stock. All these things give us the speed and accuracy to keep parts in the hands of our customer in a timely manner. 

Q:  How many service parts orders do we process in a day?

Gary:  Right now we are processing around 160 orders a day. That is double what we were doing 5 years ago. These parts are shipping all over the world.

Q:  What is one fun fact about you that people may not know?

Gary:  I have started looking at retiring in about five years, but I don't want to stop working. I have a golf cart repair business, and get a lot of satisfaction from it; especially when you have one [golf cart] that doesn't run and you are able to fix it. In doing this I understand how important it is to get service parts. I am ordering these parts from other companies, for these golf carts. I have customers that want these golf carts repaired in a timely manner, so having that relationship from the people you buy from and getting the product to you quick is extremely important.

Q:  What do you enjoy doing in your time away from work?

Gary: I enjoy spending time with my family, as much as I can. I have a new grandson - he's ten months old. I am really looking forward at the time I retire he will be of an age when we can really enjoy doing things together. I really look forward to that.

Q:  If you purchased one Rotary Lift product what would it be, and why?

Gary:  I would purchase a 10,000 lb two post lift because of the ease it gives you with working under what ever you lift.
